“I might have had a little thought in the back of my mind that a lip “balm” + a lip “gloss” would not equal such an attractive product, but that thought was soon zapped once I actually tried this!
This shade is a really flattering nude that made my lips instantly look gorgeous and yet still natural. It should be noted that in the container the product looks milky brown but when it was more of a light brown with a peachy/pink tint to it on my lips. The texture was just right – a medium weight that still felt light and airy on my lips. This is because it is a hybrid.
This gloss does not feature any smell or taste, which was fine for me. It is also an amazing moisturizer. All day my lips were soft and supple with no dryness, peeling or flaking. This was perfect for day time since it gave me healthy, flattering color, without being too obvious. The finish was actually a sheen rather than a high shine gloss. This is perfect for a “natural” look – or just one of those days when you only have a few seconds to put yourself together! :)
Another plus is that there is a LOT of product in the tube. It has lasted for me forever and this is using it pretty much every day. I also love the slanted applicator tip which made it very easy to apply without having to get my fingers involved!
This shade will work with all skin tones. However, if you have very pigmented lips you may want to try using a neutral/brown lip pencil first to just even out the tone. This is a makeup bag must for me now!” V.D.

"Almost Lipstick really is the perfect solution for those of you who need moisture, and a hint of flattering color. Like all of the Almost Lipstick shades, Black Plum looks VERY dark in the tube, but went on my lips a sheer reddish-purplish-brown. Black Plum is nice warm shade and has a hint of shimmer. It made my lips so soft and kept them moisturized without feeling greasy.
I found that one layer was perfect for day time at the office or on weekends and it gave my lips a hint of juicy-looking color and shine. But since it can get darker, for an evening look I really layered this on for a more dramatic sexy pout. The staying power is good but reapplication is necessary after meals, etc. However, it reapplies easily and I LOVE the slim silver case it comes in! In addition, blotting and layering builds up the intensity and increases the staying power.
This is a color that will truly work on all skin tones, even very dark (e.g.Alec Wek) with more darkly pigmented lips. J.K.

“You may be thinking what I was when I saw this shade – chocolate? Well, there is no actual brown (or chocolate flavor) is this, but I have to say this was a really fun and very nice feeling gloss.
The shade on my lips was a very pretty and flattering. It’s a warm lilac with a touch of medium pink. It’s a really feminine, girly, color which is right up my alley. I loved using it when I wanted a cheerful, vibrant shade on my lips, but not too bright. It felt like silk on my lips and was super light weight. The finish was sheer but I could also layer it for more color payoff. The effect was very shiny and sexy. It was slightly sticky and didn’t melt or feel greasy even on the hottest days.
This gloss did have a flavor, which was a light, citrus/fruity one. I like it. There was also subtle tingling sensation due to the plumping ingredients, but nothing too intense. The plumping effect is subtle, but nice and really did smooth out some of my little fine lines in my lips.
This certainly is not the only plumping gloss on the market; however, I really love the little glam flash of this tube and thought the moisturization and staying power of the gloss itself was great. This shade will work best up to a Gabrielle Union shade. It’s also perfect for teens (or those with a youthful spirit), and of course those that love Kimora and her fabulousity style/fashion!” L.Y.

Kissable Couture Nude Collection lip gloss in honesty

“This is a lovely nude that is still worth picking up even if you have tons of other nudes. That’s because the shade is just a tad different from most nude glosses and the performance is fantastic. Honesty is a very sexy sheer caramel with a touch of nectarine and gold featuring a touch of shimmer. I think this is a great universal nude color. This shade looked great on its own or over my brown/golden-brown lipsticks.
The applicator wand has been slightly revamped since their initial lip gloss collection last year, featuring a new slightly slanted lip. This made is very easy to pick up just the right amount of gloss and apply it easily and quickly.
Like their previous collection, the feel of the gloss on my lips was just divine. I also love that they kept the unique ombre effect with the tube packaging. It was smooth, ultra light (almost like I had nothing on!) and best of all super moisturizing. The color payoff is subtle but noticeable. This will work on all skin tones, including very dark. This looks great on bare lips, but if you have darker, more pigmented lips, I recommend starting with a nude/chestnut-brown lip pencil to fill in your lips first.” F.G.

"What a lovely treat! For those of you who LOVE lip glosses, you will be delighted by this new line of lip glosses from celebrity makeup artist A.J. Crimson. I tried Eric, which in the beautifully designed tube is a bronzed coral at the top of the slim tube, and as it goes veers downwards to the end of the tube, has a unique ombre* effect which makes it a deep dark chocolate color with coral accents.
When applied on the lips however, the color is very sheer and light, yet still produces a very nice color payoff as the pigments in this gloss are excellent. I got a very nice deep coral with bronze shimmer effect on my lips. The shine factor is nice, and can be applied heavier for a night time VaVa Voom effect.
I have dry lips and was very happy that this gloss had great wear, and did not make my lips flake or dry out during the day. It is not sticky or greasy and looked great applied over a nice neutral golden brown lipstick as well as on it’s own with a neutral lip liner.
Fantastic first outing for A.J. and Keisha and I can’t wait to try more colors!" – L.F.

“First off, any beauty lover cannot deny how beautiful this packaging is! It is glamorous and super modern at the same time. The lipstick actually comes out by pulling the lovely delicate sparkly grey ribbon at the top of the shimmery Lucite tube that it is housed in.
The shade is a very nice mauve with a touch pink that is flattering and versatile. It is a semi-sheer finish. This was perfect when I didn’t quite want a nude lip, but I didn’t want to go bright pink either. It has a high shine that is buildable. There is a light sprinkling of glitter, but it was not large or coarse – my lips felt smooth and I didn’t experience any glitter “migration” during the day on my chin or face. The moisturization was very good as well. My lips felt smooth and plump all day. One layer was fine for daytime and the office, and a few more made super hot for a night time look. The color is long lasting as well. This shade will work with many complexions, best up to a Gabrielle Union shade. True luxury and performance in one!” T.Y.

“If you are looking for a bold, striking lip that’s not too dramatic or showy then this is the color! The formula itself is very pigmented (no sheerness here) with a soft satiny shine, without shimmer. The texture was smooth, and was very moisturizing for my dry lips. This is a long lasting formula, so the lasting power was fantastic and also worked well in humid weather for me. It is non-scented.
This color is a dynamic medium-toned pink that will work well with many skin tones, best up to a Gabrielle Union shade. The packaging, as with all of the Dior products, is exquisite, glamorous and yet still simple. It’s the classic deep blue Dior’s cased with a touch of silver. “OK I admit it.
I did think that this necklace was absolutely gorgeous and really didn’t care if the gloss actually worked (shame on me!), but as I happily discovered, the gloss itself is amazing and so flattering on me.
The color is a shimmering pinky-copper (It read a little more copper on my lips) that is light, has a nice smooth consistency and is not sticky! Even better, the shine factor is amazing. I wore it alone and also over more neutral lipsticks and really loved the color and the way the shimmer worked with my skin tone. Great for day or night too. Please note that because it is on the lighter side, this will work best on more lightly pigmented lips and up to a Gabrielle Union complexion.
As far as the actual design, it inspired by a dazzling diamond piece from the Christian Dior Couture collection, featuring crystal detailing and a dangling Dior logo. I found that it actually was convenient when I wanted to do discreet touch ups during parties and after dinner. There is also a little mirror on the topside of the pendant which makes it even easier to use.

“Oh how I love this lip gloss! It is true that I am a big fan of Dior products – from packaging to formulas I am always impressed. However, this is the first time that I’ve used a Dior product which has resulted in compliments from random strangers, to my co-workers to my own mother asking “what is that color you are wearing on your lips?” Or in the case of a recent walk in NYC, a gentleman saying “what amazing lips!” as I walked by…
The color is a lovely and very wearable warm nude/brown shade with rose micro glitter. The glitter is very noticeable and multi-dimensional. I observed pink, orange and yellow in the flickers of this gloss. The shine is not “plasticky” shiny - just gives a very pretty gloss to the lip and yet the texture and feel is extremely light. I really loved how it gave my lips dimension and color without being overly shiny. It does have their signature a rose/floral mix fragrance which I happen to love, but it’s not too overbearing. This shade will look amazing up to an Iman shade.
In terms of quality, of course it is fantastic (as all the Dior Addict Ultra Glosses are!) The packaging is also great, very luxurious indeed! This is worth every penny my darlings -- after all, you are getting one of the best quality lip glosses in a beautiful shade!" G.V.

“When you want a really sexy red dramatic mouth, this is the lip product you need! It’s the exact red I've been searching for. This is a rich, medium, high-gloss red, no shimmer, and looked great on my skin (very rich warm dark cocoa brown). The gloss lasted long a long time, and using a lipliner the staying power was even greater. It's a really interesting texture, and looks like a very shiny gloss but feels like a lipstick – amazing! There is a slight perfume-y scent to it but it disappears within seconds. This will look marvelous on darker skin tones like mine, but will also work well with golden skin tones like Eva Mendes and Beyonce as well for a more dramatic contrast look.” D.O.

“I am now officially a lover of Dior gloss! I admit that JLo got me into a nude lip several years ago, and I haven’t quite gotten out of it, but I wanted something with a bit more color, especially with my plum/pink shadows that I got back into recently. I loved this color, which is a nice brownish rose w/ some shimmer (not exactly beige as the name implies). Because of the intense pigment, it gave my lips a great amount of color. The feel and formula is somewhat light and between a lipgloss and a lipstick. It isn't sticky or tacky and it lasts a long time.
The color payoff is wonderful in any kind of lighting and also showed up so well in photographs that I was in recently. It looked great with any color clothing or with neutral, brown, plum eye shadows. I found that this was great to use for events I go to because it looks great in photos and it is hard to wear off while talking and sipping. It’s also very versatile; subtle enough for work and still shimmery/shiny enough to wear out. This will work best up to a Queen Latifah complexion with light/medium pigmented lips.” J.M.

Bobbi Brown Lip Crayon in Naked Pink
Tester: Multi-Ethnic (Japanese & Irish) about Lindsey Price’s (from Lipstick Jungle TV show) complexion with lightly pigmented lips that are dry.
“This was the first time I’ve ever used one of Bobbi’s lip crayons and I must say that this is really a little gem! The color a very pretty cool toned pink with a touch of brown which was perfect for an everyday look, or even for the office. It’s pink, but it’s not too bright and was very flattering on me. The texture of the crayon was very light, soft and smooth on my lips. I also loved the peppermint flavor! Just a few quick swipes of the crayon were enough to spread the color over my lips.
I found that using my finger to do a final blend of the color gave me a nice light berry stained look, but if I was in a rush I would just apply with the crayon itself. The lasting power was excellent. It lasted through most of my morning (including coffee, etc), with only a touch up or two all day. Although it’s a matte formula, it was not too drying for my lips (most of the time I would apply a layer of lip balm first if I felt my lips were especially dry, or before a plane flight).
I love the idea of carrying my lip color in a convenient crayon, and the cap design is very good, so I never had to worry about it coming off in my bag. It also comes with a sharpener. Great concept. Fantastic color. Amazing texture and wear! This particular color will work best up to a Beyonce shade, and there are several deeper ones available as well for darker women.” L.T.
